Department of Assamese came into existence since the opening of the classes in 1993. Initially, the Department offered only MIL in Assamese and now by looking into the demand of the students for honours in Assamese language, since 2017 the Department has been rendering its service for fulfilling the needs and aspirations of the students of Assamese Language & Literature in particulars. There are four full time Asst. Professor for teaching in Assamese department.
Facilities:
Department has a good collection of more that 300 textbooks, references and Question banks which are accessible for both students and teachers.
